It is at times like these that a few good leadership books are a new leaders best friend. An important source of learning for new leaders trying to find their way. If that’s you I would recommend the following  9 books as some of the best sources of learning for new leaders.

11 Practices of Collaborative Leaders

Suffering from Shortsightedness

  1. Anne

  2. Another must-read is The Chimp Paradox by Dr. Steve Peters, the Psychologist behind The British Olympic Cycling team and Team Sky. His simple, yet highly effective model for understanding how the mind works helps us fulfil the first tenet of leadership – first, lead yourself. My team and I have used this very successfully to improve our communication, better deal with conflict and setbacks and help inidividual growth.

  3. Joanne

Leading into the Emerging Future is on my favourites list!

  4. Neal Boardman

I concur with Anne, Multipliers by Liz Wiseman would be a good addition to the proposed list.

  5. Two favorites of mine: The Wisdom of Teams (Katzenbach & Smith) and Our Iceberg is Melting (Kotter). Also, Kotter’s Leading Change.
