In this world of rapid change, traditional management is ineffective. What’s required is leadership. As the pace of change increases so does the demand for leadership. The happens we’re faed with is that in a world of rapid and constant change, what’s required is a significant increase in our capacity for personal leadership.
When talking about leadership we’re not referring to the kind of leadership that is the result of your authority, title or position. Rather we’re talking about the kind of leadership that is the result of character and competence.
The focus of this blog is on personal leadership – the art and science of leading oneself. Personal leadership is the foundation for other kinds of leadership, if you cannot lead yourself, you’re in no position to effectively lead others. It’s therefore essential that you learn to lead yourself first.
The challenge for each one of us is that we’re not adequately prepared to lead in a VUCA world. So we must focus on establishing a strong foundation, a foundation based on sound character, proven principles and practices.
The purpose of this blog is to share the insights, principles and practices to help you grow your leadership.
